Personal Injury & Wrongful Death
A serious crash changes more than a vehicle. It can change a life.
In an instant, a person may lose health, income, independence, sleep, confidence, and the simple ability to enjoy ordinary days. Some injuries heal. Others do not. Permanent neck, back, brain, and orthopedic injuries can limit how a person works, moves, thinks, rests, and cares for family. In the worst cases, a family loses someone who should still be here.
When someone else’s carelessness causes that kind of harm, insurance is supposed to help make things right. Responsible people and businesses pay premiums for that purpose. But when the claim is serious, the insurance company’s interests often change. Adjusters may minimize injuries, delay decisions, question medical care, blame the injured person, or pressure families to settle before the full harm is known.
That is where we come in. We help injured people and grieving families recover what was taken from them through someone else’s fault. We gather the evidence, work with the medical proof, deal with the insurance company, and prepare the case so it can be resolved fairly — by settlement when possible, and by trial when necessary.
We understand that you did not ask to be in this position. You want your life back. When medicine cannot fully give it back, the law requires accountability for the harm caused. Our job is to help you pursue that accountability with experience, preparation, and resolve.
We bring decades of litigation experience to serious injury and wrongful death cases. We work to recover not only for medical bills and lost income, but also for pain, permanent impairment, loss of function, loss of enjoyment of life, and the many practical ways an injury changes daily living. We also pay attention to what happens after a settlement or verdict, including fees, litigation expenses, liens, subrogation, and other issues that can affect the client’s net recovery.
We limit the cases we accept so we can give each client the attention the case deserves. We remain accessible. We tell clients the truth. If a case has weaknesses, we address them directly. If we do not believe we can help, we say so. That straight talk matters — to our clients, to opposing counsel, to insurance companies, and ultimately to judges and juries.
Our firm is rooted in northern Iowa. We know the people, roads, farms, workplaces, families, and communities our clients come from. We also know that a serious injury case is rarely “just a case.” It may affect employment, family responsibilities, farm or business operations, estate planning, taxes, insurance, or long-term financial security. When needed, we work with our partners across the firm to help clients see the larger picture and make sound decisions.
Most people come to us because something has gone wrong. Our goal is to help them find the best way forward.
You will not be routed through an automated phone maze. You will be heard by real people who care about you.
